Your health needs don't always happen during clinic office hours. That's when you can count on Avera Medical Call Center, a free service that connects you with a registered nurse or other health professional. Our 24-hour nurse line is available year-round – and we can provide you with confidential answers to your health-related questions.

The Avera Medical Call Center is not a resource for medical emergencies. For conditions that threaten a life, limb or organ, call 911 or go to one of Avera's emergency departments immediately.

How We Help

• Our professional nurses won’t provide a diagnosis over the phone, but you will receive accurate medical information.
• A nurse can help you decide if you need to go to the emergency room or an after-hours urgent care clinic.
• If needed, a nurse can connect you with an on-call provider.

Avera’s medical information call center staff can provide services to callers in South Dakota and parts of Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and North Dakota – due to medical licensure requirements. We can serve locations with the following telephone area codes:
