Avera Heart Hospital is committed to helping communities stay safe and healthy. An automated external defibrillator (AED) is an easy-to-use medical device that helps treat cardiac arrest, a life-threatening condition where the heart stops beating. As South Dakota’s largest public access defibrillator program, Avera Heart Hospital provides AEDs at cost to help individuals in public spaces, like businesses, churches and schools, as well as instructional DVDs for training.
