Whether you’re an Avera patient or not, our experienced team of pharmacists collaborates with your provider to answer questions, prevent complications and help you get the best results from your medications.

In-Clinic Pharmacists

Our Avera clinical pharmacists work with your care team to manage chronic conditions and reduce medication-related risks. During or after a visit with your provider, you can schedule one-on-one visits with a clinical pharmacist.

Retail Pharmacies

Some of our retail pharmacies are located inside Avera clinics and hospitals, while others are standalone locations. They all offer over-the-counter medications and immunizations as well as prescription medications.

Comprehensive Pharmacy Services

Beyond just filling your prescriptions, Avera pharmacists can provide education and recommendations on medication dosage and side effect management and answer any questions you have. Our pharmacies also offer a range of services:

  • Multiple pharmacies offer direct pickup and/or mail-order services (with free shipping) for one-time and maintenance prescriptions.
  • Avera MyChart — online or via the mobile app — and an automated phone system give you options for requesting and managing prescription refills.
  • Our pharmacies accept most prescription drug insurance plans and Medicare Part D plans, meaning you’ll have the same insurance co-pay as other pharmacies. (Some exclusions apply.)
  • You have flexible payment options for your medications, including cash, credit/debit card, personal check, health savings account (HSA) and flex spending account (FSA).
  • Our $4/$10 generic program helps you save on your prescriptions — plus we offer a prescription savings card.
  • Medication donation and disposal programs are available at select locations.
