Participation in Ideal Living also includes:
- Phone calls and appointments with a coach – Your initial session lasts about one hour. Then you’ll have weekly 15-minute sessions that last about 15 minutes for measurements and follow-up. You’ll discuss your goals and barriers while gaining encouragement to keep moving along to a healthier you.
- Weekly meal diary – A healthy diet is crucial to weight loss, and a weekly meal diary helps you keep track of eating between weekly consults.
- Progress chart – An encouraging tool for keeping track of the progress you make each week.
- Access to Ideal Protein products – Nutritionally-balanced products that promote fat loss while supporting muscle mass.
- Weigh and measure chart – This tracks measurements and weight each week to provide motivation and accountability.

How do I get started?
Your first step will be to come to one of our Ideal Living Introduction Seminars. At this event you will learn all about Ideal Protein. After attending we will schedule your first appointment with your new health coach to get you started towards a healthier you.
What is the average weight loss?
Many people lose weight consistently on Ideal Protein. Women tend to lose 2-3 pounds per week; men lose about 3-5 pounds per week. This truly is a diet that works if you are committed.
Is this a high protein diet?
No, this diet puts you on the appropriate amount of protein you should be taking in each day. This diet uses high-biological protein foods that are highly absorbable to your body. It also helps maintain your lean muscle tissue while burning your fat.
How will I feel on this diet?
Many of our dieters feel great on this diet. Your body moves into a different metabolic state called “Ketosis”. This state along with regulated blood sugars causes many people to have more energy than they have had in a long time. Many people say they are not hungry and cravings have gone away.
What about food allergies or health conditions?
We work with many people who have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, who have type 1 or 2 diabetes, and a variety of food allergies or sensitivities. We work very closely with our Integrative Medicine physicians, who oversee your program to make sure your labs are where they need to be or adjust medications if needed. We also work with your physician to update them on any changes. In addition we carry a variety of gluten free, peanut free and dairy free products to meet your needs.
How does the program work and how long will it take?
There are four phases to the diet. You will use a mixture of Ideal Protein products, lean protein from foods, vegetables, lots of water and four supplements that are included in the program. Supplements will include a Multi-Vitamin, an Omega-3, a Calcium-Magnesium and a Potassium supplement. The amount of food you take in on this diet is lower than your typical American diet, and so to keep your body functioning properly and efficiently it is vital to be sure you have the correct vitamins and minerals.
Phase 1 is the time you are in until you meet your weight loss goal. You can estimate your weight loss goal by 2.5 pounds per week for women, and four pounds per week for men. This phase includes three Ideal Protein food products, eight ounces of protein from food, four cups of vegetables, and lots of water each day.
Phase 2 lasts for two weeks and bumps you down to two Ideal Protein food products per day, while increasing your protein from food to 16 ounces.
Phase 3 lasts for two weeks and you will use one Ideal Protein food product per day and increase your protein from foods as well.
Phase 4 is the rest of your life! This program helps you make lifelong changes to your diet. Many of the foods that have caused you to gain weight will need to be something of the past. You are moving on to a healthier new you, and with that the old way of eating will need to go. This is typically not an issue though, after fueling your body with foods that help you feel your best, you will most likely not want to go back to the old you.
How much does this program cost?
We encourage you to think of the cost of the program as part of your grocery bill, as it will be about 60 percent of the food you eat. You will be cutting back on many of the foods you once ate. You may also be saving money in medications, as many of our dieters are able to cut back in certain medicines, and some have even been able to go off completely.
